The SEA is a non-profit educational organization for anesthesiologists who strive to enhance their abilities and scholarly endeavors in the field of education. The aims of the Society include:

• Improving the knowledge and skills of the anesthesiology educator
• Advancing established and evolving approaches for the recruitment, training, and evaluation of anesthesiology residents and fellows
• Offering techniques to strengthen medical student education across the basic and clinical science years
• Organizing semiannual meetings designed to meet the needs and interests of anesthesiology teachers and learners
• Fostering research in anesthesia education with the goal of national presentation and publication
