Welcome to the Educator’s Portal. This website is designed to help the educator by providing tools for teaching, curriculum design as well as providing information about promotion.
However, this site is in its infancy and we appreciate your patience as the Committee on Faculty Development under the leadership of Drs. Randel and Salgar develop this site.
If you would like to participate in developing materials please contact Dr. Gail Randel

Teaching Workshops
Various teaching workshops are held at our twice annual SEA meetings. Here you can find materials from such workshops (past and present).
Curriculum Design
When designing a curriculum at your program, it is useful to take a look at what others are doing. Here, we hope to post “sample” curriculums from various specialties of anesthesia from various programs. Please submit curriculums or ideas that seem to work or not work at your program.
The role of educators is becoming more recognized in many departments/institutions. One important method of showcasing yourself is by including an Educators Portfolio with your traditional CV.The website of the The Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators at the University of California, San Francisco is a great resource for anyone interested to get additional information on this subject. With permission, we hope to post some sample porfolios.
JEPM
The Journal of Education in Perioperative Medicine (JEPM) is the official electronic journal of the SEA. It publishes twice (sometimes 3 times annually) with sections featuring review articles, original articles, special articles, brief reports and letters. There is also a section specifically devoted to educational materials the electronic educational library (ELL). ELL is a format where educators are encouraged to submit educational materials which they find to be helpful.
